An air source heat pump, sometimes referred to as an air-to-water source heat pump, transfers heat from the outside air to water, which heats your rooms via radiators or underfloor heating. It can also heat water stored in a hot water cylinder for your hot taps, showers and baths.
Heat pumps are more efficient than other heating systems because the amount of heat they produce is more than the amount of electricity they use.

- Do Heat pumps only work in well insulated homes?Heat pumps work in all types of homes and still work well in those that have less insulation. When you speak to a heat pump installer, they’ll assess your home and set your heat pump to work with your house type and heating needs.
- Do Heat pumps require a lot of maintenance?Heat pumps need no more maintenance than a gas boiler. Just like with a gas boiler, we recommend an annual service for your heat pump.
